Antenna Grommet Replacement?

Hello All my Z3 friends, I own a 2002 Z3 and the grommet around the antenna has cracked and needs to be replaced. I can purchase one on ebay, but I'm not sure how difficult it is to replace. I read somewhere that it can be installed fromthe outside, by removing the antenna and pressing it into place. Has anyone had this problem? Any pictures of the process would be great. Thanks Chris

Heya, Is it this?

Id say go to the dealership buy 5,6, Try putting it in yourself. It looks like you unscrew the upper post, pull the exterior grommet out/off. Slide the antenna housing into the trunk, replace interior threaded grommet. Reassemble. Maybe its not that easy but give it a try, if it fails take it in, or ask for advice. Hope it helps

Maybe its only necessary and alot easier to just do the exterior, but what the hell right.

Thanks for the diagram, Item 5 is the one in question. I ordered one last night and I think you are correct that it's replaced from the outside. I'll give that a try first. Thanks again...

Realoem.com is so money for bimmers. Gives you a great diagram, shows order of assembly, and part name/dealer pricing. What can be better.
