E28 M5 subframe repairs

Well heres the E28 with the rear end out. Notice the subframe mounts. This is what happens when maintenance is ignored. Thank god the rust is surface. It will be cleaned up and painted with a Por 15 equivalent. Since the rear end is out I thought it best for the mechanic to install the E34 M5 rear brakes and the 6 piece stainless hose set. New OEM exhaust will be fitted with all new hangers and hardware, gaskets. That takes care of the rear of the car. Next up will be the oilpan leaks and in the near future the timing chain and components. Thanks to Ken at TwoBrothers Automotive for the help.

I just want your car even more now...

The subframe bushings are due for replacement in my 6er too. Those, along with my H&R springs will be installed in the Spring. Hopefully I won't encounter the same little threatening surprise as you did... !

Looks like the shocks for the SLS. Are you keeping it Mark, or deleting the SLS?

SLS stays, the ride is beautiful even with the shitty sub frame mounts that were destroyed.
What I like about the M5 is it is stable and rides great even with 4 people cruising at 140. Nothing like a big sedan with firm suspension and a 5 speed.

I've never riden in a car with good SLS but I hear when it's good, it's great.
