| newbie | Im a first time bmw owner Hi, Im new to this forum as well as new to bmw ownership. My brother gifted me a 1988 325i after a bad car accident totalled my Riviera. I love my car, ALTHOUGH I recently put the car in reverse and have not been able to get it out of reverse. I thought it was the shift linkage (I was hopeful) but my mechanic told me its the tranny. Do I need a whole new one or can I buy parts and rebuild it or is a used one better? Does anyone happen to have one laying around that they dont want anymore? I love this website, you guys are a plethera of valuable information. Thank you, Kathryn |
