Newbie from down-under

Hey everyone,

Just joined up. Site looks really good and helpful. i Live in Australia and have an E30 318i coupe in dolphin grey. i have loved the e30's since i was a little kid.
also a friend and i are building an e30 hillclimb/tarmac rally car. we only picked it up last weekend and have started to strip it out. we got a 4 door 325e and a 2 door 323i. the 323 is only good for scrap but we are going to place the head onto the 325e bottom end. we also got 2 sets of hartge wheels (e21 15 inch and e30 16 inch) thrown in on the deal!! the 16's are going onto my car. anyway will post some pics soon

cheers

JH

Do I smell a turbo ?

Welcome to the site. I look forward to seeing the photos of the build, and hearing all about the plans you have for the turbo

here is a pic of the 325e with the 16 inch hartge rims. as for a turbo, i am not sure... i really like the idea of a N/A revvy inline 6, but who knows!!!

I have a sister in law in Brisbane, she lives in Chapel hill. We went to stay with them for a few weeks. Brisbane is an amazing part of the world.

Sounds like you guys have a few tracks in a very small area. As my wife is leaning over my shoulder, and whispering in my ear ..... Look even more reasons to live in Brisbane.

Thanks for the kind words on the 318is, she is waiting for me to put her back together..... But soon she will have HR springs, Koni dampers and a 4:45 LSD.

Dave

We had a track here many moons ago, Called Westwood. We would turn wheels {bikes} Thursday nights for practise. And race every 3rd weekend. It was a great track, but it was turned in to a bunch of houses. For those that remember Westwood, here are a few photos from the album....

The day the track was torn down !

The pits

It was a sad day when we lost the track

Now we have one track, about 1hr - 1.5 out of town, called Mission. I have yet to turn a wheel at, maybe this year.

Awesome pictures Dave...they make Mission so darn inaccessible, you may as well take to the streets I'm only joking..but if they want to decrease street racing and the fatalities that go with it, give us kids some venue to legally see what our cars can do..and I don't mean a straight line (the strip)
