Smile Hey everybody, new member writing BMW news and articles.

Hi,

Just wanted to say hello. My name is Josh and I am new to Bimmer Classics, but you'll be hearing a lot from me in the future. For the past month or so I've been working with Blackice and the mod team and other behind the scenes folk to produce a history section for this site. We're getting close to completion, so you'll be able to check it out soon.

As far as vehicles go, I don't currently own a BMW car (I'm driving an old beater Ford), but I do have a BMW bike, an '04 R 1150R. It's a great bike, and of all that I've ridden, I'd have to say that BMW's six-speed shaft driven transmission is one of the best. Great response to the throttle and none of the messy maintenance of chain-drives.

I do have experience with BMW cars through my parents though. For years, my mother has driven BMWs (her latest acquisition is an X3), and my father is chomping at the bit to pick up a 135i convertible (my little brother graduates college in the spring, so that's going to be my dad's present to himself for finishing tuition payments!). I've spent a few years working in auto shops, so I'm usually the first one called when any of my family's or friend's cars start acting funny.

One last thing: I'm going to be putting together regular articles and updates for the News section, so if any of you have any particular subjects you want me to research and write about, let me know and I'll get to it.

Thanks

-Josh
