New member with a 1988 735i.

Hello bimmers! I'm Bill from Calgary & just joined up.My car is a 1988 735i 5speed I've recently purchased and only driven a few times due to 1 mech issue or another. Now I can only drive a few miles before my driveshaft acts up,knocking& banging agianst the floor of the car.
I have reviewed the threads and find many interesting tech topics.I have a few to post to help me get my 735 on the road. My first repair is the driveshaft bearing-which I purchased today. Any tips? before I turn this job over to my generic mechanic. Also, does anyone have a Series7-032 manual on pdf?
My project list includes Driver's window electrics-wiring pins?;radio;Odometer (315,000kms)-I can only read it in the sunlight);windshield;head lamps;etc. Good to meet you.

Welcome Bill

Hey Bill, welcome to the board. No need to wave the white flag here, I think you will find everyone here to be quite friendly.

I think I do have a 7 series manual here, let me take a look....When you get a chance, post some photos of your ride.

We love to see everyones car, even if it is covered in snow

Just kidding !

Hello Bill, good luck with the 7 series, their a very nice car once sorted out.
One bit of advice if I may,get yourself a Bentley Manual for your car, actually since it's Xmas make someone else get you one LOL.If your going to have a generic mechanic work on your car it will prove invaluable to him and you.The amount of info contained in it runs to hundreds of pages and it will cut diagnostic time to a minimum and save you a ton of money.
