I am new to this site and the marque

Hi gang,

I am new to this site and the marque. I am considering the purchase of a BMW for the first time, and I have come here to get some insight from your collective wisdom.
I live in Ben Lomond,Ca (in the hills above Santa Cruz) and work in Menlo Park, which gives me a 84 mile daily commute. Fortunatly most of the drive is a wonderfully twisted,2-lane rural highway through the Redwood forest called Hwy9.
As you can tell from my vehicle list, I tend to collect older vehicles...I enjoy driving them and I do all my own repair... but they have to be rear wheel drive. I don't like working on front wheel drive cars and don't really enjoy driving the front wheel drive cars like I do rear wheel drive.

Thanks for your time..

Hey there oldIron,

A BMW will meet you your needs but which one depends alot on which one you prefer. The older BMW's are great and there are many on this board that pefer them. I own an 84 325e and find it great. also take a look at the e30. thats another great bmw classic.
