| Senior Member | Mazda Speed 6 25,500 OBO Black on Black Good Evening Everybody; Well I got accepted into university; so I need to sell my car for tuition. Incidentally; I never thought I would actually get accepted so I purchased my Speed 6 three months ago assuming I would be keeping her forever; Funny how priorities change. Anyways, For sale today is a 2006 Mazda Speed 6 (black on black leather) with 45,000 kilometres on her. Always kept in an underground garage and never hit; dent; dinged; or scuffed. I am the second owner and purchased it three months ago at 35,000 kilometres. Yes I do travel a lot. She was a Calgary car and almost all her mileage is freeway (I have the gas receipts to prove it). Incidentally she has always been filled with 94 octane as she is a turbo car. (Have the receipts to prove that as well ^_^) I did a LOT of research before purchasing her and I have a nice spreadsheet showing all the speed 6s in BC, and this one was by far in the best shape. I also ran an ICBC background and a Carproof report on her before purchase to make sure everything was on the up and up. I will give you that report when you come to see her. What can I tell you about the Speed 6... It was a two year Speed adventure with Mazda; essentially it is the Mazda 6 frame, that goes into a separate factory line where it gets the 2.3 litre DISI Turbo motor, Sport shocks and lowering springs, Beefy sway bars, rear stabilization bars (So the seats don’t fold down unlike a normal 6 because of the reinforcements), 18” wheels, 6 speed transmission (SPEED 6’s ONLY CAME IN 6 SPEED; there was never an automatic option), sport clutch, All wheel drive drivetrain, and a limited slip differential. She also got a Bose premium sound package and a subwoofer. The interiors were leather and the steering wheels were changed to be more sporty. They changed the exterior by adding side skirts and a front and rear airdam, as well as replacing the spoiler with a nice lip. HID moving headlights were standard on the speed 6 and the stock power was 270 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. There have been a few add ons to her as well. She has a Mazda Speed cold air intake and Mazda reflashed the CPU so the turbo is a bit more responsive. As she stands now she has slightly over 300 horsepower and torque. Cosmetically; she has tinted rear windows and has a plastic rock guard over the front of the hood, airdam, and sideview mirrors. You can’t really see it, but it is a lot like a screen cover for a cell phone. The leather in the car is still perfect; and it seems like nobody has ever sat in the rear seats. The rear medical kit and bolster cup holder thing does look like it ever moved. Ok, so what have I done to her... In the past three months; I have... installed new tyres on her which I bought from the tire rack. (Have receipts). Replaced the windshield (it had rock chips in it that were starting to spider; it was cheaper to pay my deductible than have everything filled and look ugly). I have taken her in for her 40,000 inspection two, or whatever Mazda calls their big maintenance; they did EVERYTHING!! - Synthetic Oil and filter - Synthetic transmission oil - Synthetic transfer case (Mid case AWD) oil - Limited Slip Differential Synth oil - Brake bleed and fluid flush - Brake pads and rotors - Coolant flush - Power Steering Flush - Air filter and fuel filter - Other stuff I cannot remember; have the bill and two page list. Oh and as it was purchased in Calgary, she has the full undercoat and hardware coat in the engine bay and suspension so that it doesn’t rust or seize. (don’t worry, she was only bought in Calgary as it was cheaper, it never lived in Calgary; it was owned by a gent in north van). Oh and since it was Calgary, that is where it got that plastic guard thing; you don’t really see them much over here; but it is pretty standard to see there. OK another important thing to note is the warranty; it has the complete Mazda Major Component and Comprehensive warranty. (it is the one you pay about 2000 dollars extra for when you first buy the car). Essentially, if ANYTHING goes wrong, ANYWHERE on the vehicle between now and June 2013 (or 160,000 kilometers); they will fix for free. There is even a protection plan for the paint and the leather until 2013. It is fully transferrable and I have the letters and all that from Mazda in my name, but it can be changed to you once you have your registration papers for her and they will mail you everything in your name. I am not sure what else to say other than she is a 300 HP and Ft-lbs torque, All Wheel Drive, limited slip differential, six speed, hell cat that can do 245 kilometres per hour (Electronically Limited, can be removed with software) while carrying five people and with hooks for child seats. It is a gentleman’s race car that can double as a family sedan. If you wanted her even more crazy; you can get aftermarket software and turbo mods cheap and easy and she will do well over 450 BHP from what I have seen in the USA. The only reason I only installed MazdaSpeed factory mods was because they keep the warranty intact. She got some pretty awesome reviews: CanadianDriver Mazda Test Drive: 2006 Mazdaspeed6 Mazdaspeed 6 - First Drive Review/Mazda Mania/High Performance/Hot Lists/Reviews/Car and Driver - Car And Driver 2007 Mazda Mazdaspeed 6 - Test drive and new car review - 2007 Mazda Mazdaspeed6 2006 Mazda MAZDASPEED MAZDA6 Consumer Review Oh and she has every option besides Navi; which really sucked on these models as it was not a touch screen but rather a joystick and mouse buttons next to the shifter; it was truly god awful. But it does have the moonroof; the comfort access (No keys; but touch the door handles and keep the credit card remote in your wallet; ignition is the same; keyless), leather and premium sound. Now for price I suppose; The first owner paid 48,500 out the door; I paid 26,500 three months ago; then paid 2000 in tax; then 1500 in maintenance and rubber... So I would like to ask 25,500 OBO. I think losing 4,500 in three months is a horrible return; but I do like the idea of a university degree a bit more than a fast car I suppose. My cell is 604 218 7253 if you want to see her and I work some strange hours; so please leave a message if my ringer is off. My email is cole975@gmail.com Cheers! -Ryan P.S. Sorry for the crappy pictures; I sold my camera already; so I had to use my cell phone. And sorry for the three page review; at least you know I loved her! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Senior Member | Price Drop; $24,000 OBO Well I have had a few people look at the car; but I have been told I am at the high end of the spectrum for my car... I argue that as it has always been in an underground garage; no accidents and not so much as a scratch, inside and out; plus the maintenance history reflects the price.... Also, most of these Speed6's warranties will be up in the end of the year; but mine will go for four more years over that! But nonetheless; I need money for school; so i guess i need to lower the price to get her a new home. I knocked $1500 off the asking price and just took her in for her oil change and A inspection (which is not due for another 4k kms, but it is good for people to see everything up to date) That cost me $250. If you want to come and take her for a ride; I promise a smile on your face! 604-218-7253, Cheers! -Ryan |

| Senior Member | My apologies for this guys; I got so busy with the wedding, School, and Work that I forgot to update what I sold. Some people were asking in other forums and threads what was sold; so I am just going to add this to each item that is gone. Sorry about the cut and paste here. I would just delete the threads but I think the reasoning the mods disable that is so that people have metrics on previous sales for heuristic purposes. I appreciate your patience! Oh, so yeah.. THIS ITEM IS SOLD! (Here I go again… If you’ve seen my ads you know I can’t say the simplest damn thing without writing a novel!! ^_^) -Ryan P.S. I still have boxes and boxes of bits that I never listed, so if you need anything, feel free to call or email or PM or yell if you see me. |
