WTB: Ground control sleeves.

Im going to make a purchase for next spring, and would like to get a set of GC sleeves to run with bilsteins.

Anyone know where the best place to get them, or if anyone wants to sell?

Or...if anyone wants to suggest a good, reasonably inexpensive coilover, or lowering kit ($1000) id like to know what is out there. Im not looking to slam it, but moreso tighten up the suspension and lower it about 1.5-2.0 inches...you know just to fill the wheel well gap...
Thanks
Ryan

k-swiss's pictures

You can't run ground controls and bilsteins. The inverted valving does not work..

adjustable suspension for a grand is probably not going to happen. I have the H&R sport cup kit in my 87 325 is, lowers the car 2.1 in the front and 1.7 in the back. comes with matched shocks. I would recommend this route for your budget, i payed $1100 with tax. Fills up those wheel arches nicely and gives the car a healthy raked look.

u could buy ground control sleeves brand knew with any spring rate springs you want from ground conrtol thenselves.and it only costs 440 bucks.ends up being like 550 at your door.

and a note to k-swiss, actually you can run groundcontrol with bilstien or koni since with the coilover sleeve kit they give you the sleeves the springs and the front upper positioning plates which are made to fit either koni or bilstien struts.

oh but the lowering for the front involves some welding if u do the proper coilover conversion,if not then it will still work but wont go low as you want it to

GroundControl suggests the konis for a reason though, the Bilstiens have issues with the built-in bump stops. A few guys have tried it and have experienced "worse than before" handling. The Billies cant cope with the spring rates and apparently dont have enough travel, and therefor are prone to bottoming out.

Disclaimer: I have no experience with the Ground Control setup, however, I have spent hours upon hours of time researching them for my M3. I'm always trying to justify the $1599

yea dude i agree.i didnt mean to say its good to run em with bilstiens.i had that setup on my car once...so thats why i am saying you CAN do it.but honestly when i put in the konis....100 times better.little soft in the rear.needed higyer spring rate springs but overall with the konis it was pretty damn frekain good for that cheap.

The reason they suggest the koni's is because they run a shorter shock then stock. When you do the install and the welding of the mount you ar supposed to get the shock tube sectioned. When you lower the car 2 inches you lose 2 inches of travel, that is a lot to lose in the front of an e30.

I've been running a full ground control kit in my m3 for a year or two, its awesome super tight and comfortable enough to drive around town.
