Unhappy Water in my footwells

Hi I have a 1985 735i and it is winter in oz and peeing down with rain and my passenger and rear passenger(both) footwells are completely soaked. I dont know where the water is coming from and most of all dont know how to get rid of it easily and stop the source..ANY IDEAS ...PLEASE HELP!...THANK YOU ALL. Robski

got any sun/moonroof ?
if yes, most probably the drain exit is plugged... Usually there are 4 exits/holes

where are these exits?

open the sunroof, and then look in the front of them, can't miss them

i had a similar problem with my E30. Does the 735 have the 'elephant pipe' in the engine bay?? it is located on the fire wall near the rocker cover on the right hand side, looks like an elephant trunk, hence the nickname. mine was blocked and causing water to come in. very easy to fix.
