| newbie | Trailing arm bushings hey everyone, I'm just rebuilding the rear end on my 325, and im now at the point where i gotta get my trailing arm bushings sorted out. I had a set of oe bushings, but someone told my dad soaking them overnight in turpentine would help them go in. Well, it seems to have broken the rubber down too much, and the first bushing we put in started shredding to bits once it hit the second shoulder going in. Basically at this point due to a limited budget I'm split between getting another set of oe bushings, or a set of oe eccentric bushings. I want to run the car lower than stock(it came with an adjustable height spring set, so how low is up to me). From what i've read eccentric bushings are a huge pain in the ass to set, are a little more expensive, and often fall out of alignment, so im leaning toward non eccentric bushings at this point. So my question is: How low can you go with stock bushings, before the camber and toe get too wacky for street use? Also, anyone been in this position and have advice for my general situation? thanks in advance guys, |
