Winter Wheel Swap Problem

Hey all,

This morning I went to put on my new steel wheels and winter tires but, no matter how much I pulled, I could not get my factory alloys off. (Yes, I removed the lug bolts, smart-asses!) I've only had the E46 for nine months and have no idea the last time the wheels were off the car, but can't imagine that the backing plates are rusted.

I hate the idea of hauling on a tire while the car is up on a jack. Anyone know how to break the bond without having a car fall on me?
