Broken stereo wires?

Hi All,

For some strange reason, neither the power or the ignition on wires for my cd player work. I'm sure they did last time I had a deck in the car, and the fuses are all fine (tripple checked). The power to the ciggarett lighter is still there also, just none to the wires that give the stereo the juice or the signal to turn on and off. If I ground the stereo and tap into the cig lighter power everything is fine (but I have to manually turn the deck off). Any ideas? I'd think they were broken but the speaker wires are all still fine.

Craig,

I'm goofy, for some reason the factory wires were unpluged from the harness by the hood release, plugged them in and magic.
