Removing body moulding

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to remove the body side moulding without breaking it. My 1986 325E bimmer is ready to be painted except for that stupid moulding.

it takes a serious amount of force, but what sometimes works is using a nylon hammer and "force the mldng backwards" to slide it off the mtng clips

You sure theres not a little nut, on the front of each piece of trim? on the inside of the door or fender which ever piece of moulding it is. Check before forcing. My e21 and 28 are both like this. Not sure about e30, but check before forcing.
