alignment/struts?

hey, when i drive over a deeper manhole cover or a pot hole on on either side at a time, my car stumbles to the right or the left and it feels really ridgid. when i go over a speed bump it feels fine, and my struts do compress fine manually when i put my weight on each wheel . is this normal?

yeah it's under load that i remember it happening...i don't have a lsd, i guess i gotta live with it...just pretty annoying when the car jumps to the side every time i hit a manhole, makes the road a bit of an obstacle course...
