| Senior Member | Does anyone know how to rebuild the front seats? Whats involved, and what parts I might need? The Seats in my M3 are kinda creaky and the shocks are gone in them pretty much like all e30 seats. I wanna rebuild them over winter. Can I get a little Help anyone??..

| Senior Member | pretty easy to do. Depends is what is broke. Check out the Realoem.com for pics and part numbers. Pretty straight forward disassembly http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.d...12&hg=52&fg=25 |

| Senior Member | Just thought I'd update this thread, I have not decided to tackle the seats as of yet, the starter issue set me back a bit, but I found this site describing how to disassemble the seats. http://www.esatclear.ie/~bpurcell/318isseat.html

Blackice's pictures | Great link ! This would have been nice to see before I did my seats. If anyone has a creeky seat, I would pull off the back and take a look at the 2 screws that hold the seat back to the bottom. Or if you prefer, You can leave all the plastic handles and trim on and just slide the cover up. This will give you just enough room to take a look inside. This can be done with the seats still in the car. Inspect the frame here as well. On one of my seats the frame was cracked here. on the other seat these 2 screws were loose. |

| Senior Member | Good link, thanks. I'm taking the heating elements out of my old seats and that link answered a few questions I had about taking them apart, made my job a lot easier. I also found my old seat frame (driver's side) had some pretty big cracks in it. That explains the lower rider wobble it had. |
