Anything to watch for whne removing A/C pump, plumbing?

Hi,

I want to get rid of the A/C pump while I'm down there, are there any special things to watch out for? Leaking refrigerant etc?

The car is getting pretty light now, no PS, no sound deadning, no carpet, but the Air con pump is big.

I'll have to start my diet soon too.

Craig

i did it to my car. an hour tops to remove the compressor. removing the aux fan and misc hoses that go behind the glove box will add 2-4 hours depending on your level of frustration.

ONLY 30lb? That's huge! But the other part of it is, that's 30lb hanging WAY out in front of the axle. Taking 30lb away from the very front of the engine bay, not only reduced overall weight, but it brings some balance back to the car.

PS: i would say it's more than 30lbs, compressor alone is 30lbs, condensor is another 20-30lbs. it would be an easy 60lbs savings

and dunt need to drag the engine down with another useless belt and pulley...
