Mallory Hyfire VI (A)

Has anyone on here installed one of these in an e30? I have had one new in the box for years and never gotten around to putting it into one of my cars. I personally don't want to attempt this myself as it involves cutting into the wiring harness and splicing wires. A guy from the shop up the street from me said he has put this into many VWs but never a BMW and it would probably take him a few hours (@ $75 per hour). I really don't feel that this is a $300+ dollar job and I would like to find another way to get this done. Thanks!

Hey Liam!

As you saw in my storage I have one of these too and I never got around to installing it either.

I have all the white papers in the box if it helps any...

I am not sure what it will do to help performance, but I am very curious about the double sparking until 3000rpm feature!

I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't expect too much improvement. The stock e30 ignition is very good.

Seriously it can't be that hard. Most of those jobs I've been perplexed by makes a lot of sense if you sit down with a manual and the car...

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Hooking it up is easy and if you need a hand, pm me. But I wasn't going to buy it for my Bimmer's as I don't think it would make much of a difference, but we could find out on your car couldn't we?

If you do go ahead and do it, please let me know what you think!!!!

I am skeptical as well as to the changes it would make, but please let us know if it really is just engine bay bling in the end;
