bmw e32 lowbeam socket issue

Hey guys... now that I've moved to another province I have to get my car registered. That means a Canadian Tire safety test. Woo hoo!

I think the only thing that will stop me is the fact that one low beam is not working. I know it's not the bulb and I'm 90% sure it's the socket.

Problem is that I cannot seem to find the part number -- even on the realoem website which is seeming buggy lately. No parts websites that I know of list anything but full headlight assemblies and replacement bulbs. And being new to this area I have no idea where to find a euro-wrecker yet.

Any ideas?

That's your best bet. Single parts of the headlight assembly are not easy to come by - the dealer will only sell you the whole thing. Even most wreckers won't sell anything other than the full assembly.

You can order single parts for the headlight assembly. Done it, not hard.

Twest what's wrong with the low-beam? You know Al and I put in 9005 bulbs into the low beams instead of the 9006 bulbs right?. Try putting in a 9006 bulb.

I just got the corsica past an ontario safety, really not hard to do. The corsicas drivers seat is missing a bolt and rocks back and forth.
