Blackice's pictures | Restored & Original 1967 BMW 2000CS Coupe This car is almost perfect, as featured at Bring A Trailer This 1967 Coupe was the predecessor of the better-known 2800CS and 3.0CS coupes which were made until 1976. These early cars were the first to feature the e9 roof-line and rear end, but had 4-cylinder power and larger headlights. ![]() This car is nicely restored and all original. It is used as a weekend driver and events with the BMW Vintage & Classic Car Club of America (BMWVCCCA). The vertical grilles and glassed-in Euro headlights take some getting used to when more accustomed to seeing later coupes on the road. These lamps are much better than the US-spec units which sere the same shape and held four sealed beam units. ![]() We love the interiors on these early coupes, and also the earliest 2002’s and 1800 sedans. The wood-accented wheel and chrome horn ring are very cool, as is the shifter protruding directly from the floor with no console. We have often considered back-dating a 3.0cs with this earlier vertical console. ![]() The car is stock under the hood, with 2L 4-cylinder power much lake the later 2002’s. The air cleaner assembly is similar to the 2002tii’s, but accepts the four inlets from the twin side-drafts. These cars are a bit underpowered in stock form, but can be modified easily. They are lighter on their feet than the 6-cylinder descendants. ![]() This red car is almost too nice to modify, but we can only imagine it with performance mods. We have seen the gray car below at several road events. We like the Alpina color scheme, the cage, and the lowered stance. This one has US-spec lights and Talbot racing mirrors. The front end of the early cars looks even more extreme with bumpers removed because the the long vertical grilles. We dig this car. (Photo: Fulviacam) ![]() |
