Blackice's pictures | Mark D Chip Group buy ! Hey guys ! I was talking to Mark D'Sylva today from Enhanced Automotive Technology, he is the guy that makes the E.A.T. ECU chips for BMW's. check them out here www.dsylva-tech.ca I have asked him if he would be interested in running a Group buy for us here at Bimmerclassics, and he thought that would be a great thing to do, since he is looking to buy a new sub woofer! ![]() So any one looking to buy a performance chip for the loved one, here is your chance. ![]() I can tell you first hand that the 93 octane EAT chip made a big difference to my 318i, and would recommend the EAT chip to anyone looking to get more performance from there Bimmer. I will let Mark talk about the details....... But who wants a EAT Chip ? Last edited by Blackice; 03-05-2009 at 07:23 PM.. |

RadioRon's pictures | Dave, what do you do when travelling down south and can't find 94 octane gas? Do you use an additive like an octane booster? R |

RadioRon's pictures | Thats good to know, but the particular circumstance that I'm wondering about is when I take the car down to Portland for a track day. I can't avoid needing a fill of gas before going on the track, and I certainly want my performance chip in the car for that too. |

RadioRon's pictures | I wasn't sure what was already in the car, so I had a look and the attached picture shows the chip. Pretty sure thats a BMW part number, but the additional notations are a mystery. Has anybody else seen such markings? I refer to the 710 with a strike through it, and the 742. |

Blackice's pictures | I was concerned about finding 92 plus octane fuel before I purchased my chip, but now I know where to get it from it is not a problem. There are stations down south like Sunoco that sell 94 Octane fuel, and there is one right in Portland ![]() As a back up, I have the stock chip in my glove box. Just in case I need to fill her up, and I can't find a 92 plus fuel. When Mark sent me my chip it came in a plastic box, This nice little box has my stock chip in it, which has been stuck with double sided tape to the inside of my glove box, just in case I need to fill her up with low Octane fuel. But really, I have not found it to be a problem. Dave |

Looks OEM to me, Were the tabs on the ECU damaged ? This would be a clear sign that someone had been in there.... I will take a photo of my OEM chip and post it for a comparison. Dave

RadioRon's pictures | So, ready for the next question......what does Mark usually up the rev limiter to for stock M42s? 7000, 7100 or ? Can the M42 take it?

RadioRon's pictures | OK, count me in on this group buy. 1991 E30 318iS, stock M42, 93 Octane, 7100 rev limit. I confirmed by inspection that my DME is 0 261 200 175. PS: not that it really matters, but does this chip also remove top speed limiter? I'm also assuming that the point of going for 93 octane rather than 91 is that Mark can tweak a bit more power out of that version. Otherwise, what's the point? |
