Mr. Red's pictures | Post your current gas mileage! On this last tank of gas which is almost empty, I averaged 9.8L/100 km according to the OBC. Overall, since I bought the car last May, I have averaged 10.6L/100 km in both city and highway driving..not too bad! |

nuts4bmw's pictures | This will be really interesting to see what we North Americans consider "good" gasmileage compared to......say Europeans. Case in point, my M540i averages about 10 liters/100km on the highway which I think is pretty damn good considering the size of the car and the motor (M60). I told this to a friend of mine in Holland and he laughed his ass off at my numbers. His Ford escort 2.0 diesel uses 5 liters/100 km or 20 km/liter which equals roughly 12.43 miles per liter or 55.93 miles per imperial gallon. I know it's not comparing apples to apples, but I just want to point out the differences of perspective as to what an economical car is depending on what part of the world you live in. BTW For those of you who read my bit about the hybrid vehicles in an earlier thread last week or so, this example once again underlines the point I was trying to make in that thread. Art |

Mr. Red's pictures | comparing how many kilometres to empty is not a very valid measurement considering how our car's tanks vary in size..but saying that, I got about 550 km on my last tank...although it was very low when I filled it up |

| I am getting about 13l/100km in my 1990 325is. I don't consider this good mileage at all but I still get over 400km per tank and this lasts me most of a months driving so it is acceptable. I use 87 octane and only notice pinging if Rene drives my car. |
