| newbie | i need someone that knows bmw's hey there i got an 89m20b25 (325i) just finished up my engine but now lacking the proper transmission. if anyone knows about this please help me out. WILL AN E36 TRANS BOLT UP TO AN E30 ENGINE? i think the block is pretty much the same just need a sanity check. thanks! |

Weeman83's pictures | An E36 motor fitted with an E30 6 cylinder transmision will cause the entire gear shift to console to lean slightly to one side, so I imagine the vice versa set up would lean the other side. So that's your first hurdle. |

| newbie | trans problem! do you have a solution im talking about the e36 1999 m3 zf tranny! i did some homework and so far i found out that it should bolt up to the block! but i have the tilt problem with the shifter, and the mounting points are a little off, the driveshafts are different lengths and the e36 has a yoke joint for the diff, (e30 is just a 4bolt plate!) thats all i found out so far! any further information id greatly appericeate it. thanks Gents ![]() |
