| Senior Member | ya know what, Im tired of this board. Why are you changing titles Scott? Cmon post your reasons Im curious. Are you after proper pronunciation, ? No slang? Everything must be exactly as per the Webster dictionary? What you are doing is plain wrong, period. I thought you owned numerous boards? Do you censor, change titles and what not on all of them?

I've had many hours of chat time with Scott now, some online, and some on the phone. Scott's skills are definitley computer related, not so much interpersonal. Meaning, he KNOWS how to make a message board work better, from a technical standpoint. But he lacks the proper communication skills, to let members know why he does it. Irritating, yes, but just how he does things. Ultimately, all the changes that have been made, or will soon be made, are for the greater good of BimmerClassics. Whether or not we as members wanted them to be changed, or care if the board grows more, that's still up for debate, I guess. Al | |

| Senior Member | This place has become the Sesame Street version of an automobile forum. Its getting stupid now. The largest and most profitable (e30 tech not included) bmw forums out there do not censor at this rediculous level, and they have no problems. Why the Nazi heavy hand Scott? |

| Banned | I'll answer again, as I doubt Scott will jump on this quick enough. The swearing censors(and we all know how I feel about them), are sadly a necessary evil for the board to continue to operate. Now please Scott(or anyone with more IT knowledge than me) correct me if I've forgotten what you told me, but here goes.... Scott is trying to grow the board. Wants to keep it regional to BC, but make it more accessible, and easier to find, for the people of BC. The way to do that, is to have it registered. However, many of the companies that do this, won't touch a site like this, because of the swearing. I know that sounds like BS, but it is true. I confirmed it with several IT friends, some of who are members here. So, before the site can grow anymore, the language filter needed to be put in place. I have spoken with Scott, and he assures me he is looking into a software fix, so that we can choose to see the swearing or not. As of right now though, there is no such animal on vBulletin, which is what this site uses. Does that make sense? Scott, did I get it right? I'm NO IT guy, so forgive me if I got it a bit wrong. | Banned | Scott's definition of clarity, is one which comes directly from an IT standpoint. Particularly when it comes to classified ads, or hard core car discussions. If the post title is clear as day, and the exact type of part/car is listed, then Google will pick it up easier. You'll notice that on the strictly car topic stuff, the titles will be changed more often than in the off topic stuff. Al | |
