| Senior Member | 9006 bulb type for all of you running the US Ellipsoids, and i went with the 5k rating (its really white with a slight ting of blue, very far from ricer HID's - 7-12k) and as far as the illegal thing goes, the bmw ellipsoid projector design is probably the best headlight design for aftermarket hid's, it has a very sharp cut-off point and BMW used this same style projector/housing in there e32 with factory Xenon option... if a cop ever pulls you over you could say you retrofited the 7 series factory hid's still illegal, i know ![]() |

MikesJo's pictures | I've had 5k HIDs in my US projectors for 2 years and have never been pulled over. Been through police checks with them too. Having them in reflector housing are the worse. Our projectors have a defined cut off, just make sure you aim them. |

MikesJo's pictures | What is the problem with the optics and where the light is distributed? Yes they are older and because of this the light is not as well distributed to the sides or projected as far as they could be but other than that I see no problem. Older technology, what can you do! They've never bothered anyone so I don't see a problem. Reflector housings on the other hand... |

| Senior Member | Id rather use HID's and aim them right and be able to see the road, Than stick with crappy candles in fish bowls, and hit some kid or dog because I could'nt see them.
