| Senior Member | Track day recap. Thought I would share some highlights from my track day last Saturday. - Spring is coming.... at least on Saturday it seemed like it at 7am heading out to the track. I now have a new personal best time from my house in Steveston to the gates of the track in Mission..... now of course this is just hypothetical and based on perfect driving conditions on fairly empty roads 47mins.... with a gas up. Hwy #1 can actually be fun when it's empty- +1 for Kuhmo SPT's..... it was discussed awhile ago but I have to mention even when they are down to their last life they still can perform very well. I even had my instructor comment on how well he thought the tires were gripping in the cold morning air. Good choice for anyone looking for performance tires at a good price. - I had some serious hardware in my group. Porsche gt3, gt2, turbo, c4s, cayman, Ferrari 360 stradale, Vantage, 350z, NSX, Exige..... it was cool. And I gotta give the M3 another +1 for holding it's own aganst them all. The Gt3 guy and turbo where shaking the heads as to how this white bimmer kept coming up their ass, uh wait, that sounded bad ![]() But if I were to take a Porsche home, it would be the GT3, gorgeous car. - I call this one "move over Zach Spencer" - The hot laps were cool. There was a SLR mclaren, a 430, Porsche cup racer and R8 to go for rides in. My two favorite cars of the day were the Exige and the Vantage though. It's better than going to the car show! Also I have to point out there was a very clean E34 m5 and Alpina Bi turbo on the track together, it was cool to see. - For those who attend track events at Mission... the new turn #1 is way better, much faster and smoother. - Then after a full day of lapping and a drive home to Steveston I get 2 blocks from my place then I run into the Saturday drive crew and got a chance to meet some of you guys. Basically a great driving day. I have some more pics if anyone wants to see some of the supercars. |

fastbmw's pictures | Good to hear! I've just got my SPT's mounted and the track day is 3 weeks away! How many cars were there? How much lap time did you get? What brake pads are you running at mission? Good/Bad? Last edited by fastbmw; 03-27-2008 at 11:41 PM.. |

| Senior Member | Here are a few of the cars that were there... SLR Macleran, craziest sounding car I have ever heard. Best described as a WW2 fighter plane sound. ![]() The R8, it's brakes went on it.... but it was brand new apparently. ![]() I love the new Exige ![]() NSX's are always cool, this one is done right. ![]() the new sti was there, I do like it better than the old one. No big wing. ![]() |

| Senior Member | I'm running Pagid sport pads, initially the pedal felt a little soft. But they do work very well and hold up under heavy breaking for 6 laps or so. At first I thought I'd like a little more initial "bite" to them but have come to appreciate the play bvecause it's better for heel toe and slight trail braking modulation. | |
