CV Joint Problem?

I am looking at this BMW 328, I am going to view this car at the weekend and I was speaking with the owner and he said that the car has a problem with the cv joint. He said that when you turn left it puts pressure on the other side of the car and he said that it is a problem with the cv joint. I was wondering if this is a big problem or is it something that can be fixed quite easily in the BMW 328 cv joint. What sort of price would I be looking at to fix this problem as obviously it will need to be done. I am trying to find out because I don't want to pay over the top for the car seeing as though it needs this done.

I don't know if it matters but the car I am looking at is a BMW 328 . When viewing the car is their anything that I should perticulaly look for in regards to this problem.

Thanks

Had them done under warranty this year on my e46 2002 325xit. Fronts only, done @ parkshore BMW, incl axles was just over 3g's plus tax. Now mine is awd, and it was the fronts, but you get the picture. Make sure you see how bad it is. Could be $$$$$ if axles need replacing.

Assuming it really is the CV joint (dont just take the owners word for it, he may be trying to cover up something bigger and more $$$) those should be very easy to swap out on an e36 and easily available at a wrecker.
