well he was just over at my house today we were gona change the control arm cause he bent the passenger side one. he can tell you the story.... anyways we were gona use my old one but apparently they're different and we only found this out when we had the old one off... so then i went and helped my bro drop in the engine for the 56 belair we've been workin on. so if anyone has an 88 IX passenger side control arm let me or him know! or a gas cap cause he forgot it somwhere...

Just joined; 1989 325iX in Ottawa. Mostly stock and rust free. Plan to keep it that way. Will be doing more simple maintenance myself. At BMWCCC tech session in April, I'll be changing my timing belt.

Hey all!! My name is Jay!!
Ever since I had any appreciation for cars whatsoever, I was into BMWs... Everything from the engines, suspensions, down to the roundel, I am completely in love with them...
With that in mind I have recently chosen a 1991 BMW 318is as my ride... I like it because its practical for a daily driver, has some pep and from what experience I have from it so far, its a fun car to drive... I am definatly going to make it my project ride and its my goal to make it one of the cleanest e30s out there!! hehe...

Hope to meet a whole lot of you at any meets comming up and definately glad to call this my home forum... Postive, local dudes, lovin the best old school german automobiles out there... couldnt have it any better...

Another darned touring!

Hi! Johnny here.

First post! Looing forward to learning a lot, and sharing what little I know. I have been looking for a few months at e30's, just like the simplicity of them, classic body style, lots of parts avail, etc. My wife agreed the Touring is practical for us (family), so a 1990, metallic green w/~70,000 kms, auto awaits a ride in Japan now. I can hardly wait to get my hands on it (or in it I should say)!! Sorry to all you fellas in the LM - I too thought the metallic greeen touring was pretty rare! Dont worry though, you'll likely never see it unless you want to go for a road trip on our sparsely populated highways up here! I must say the drive from Smithers to Prince Rupert is beautiful and FUN. I am SOOO looking forward to driving it in something other than our Toy diesels. I have never even owned a gas car before, only diesel, but I do a lot of my own wrenching...basically I have a lot to learn about the e30 quirks.

Question I have is I would like to get timing belt done immediately leaving the docks. Any recommendations on a shop that is good price, good service, and has this procedure down pat in Vanc area? Much appreciated. Dont even have the car yet and looking to spend $$ on it already.... Should I get the water pump done at same time? If so, recommend metal impellor or plastic cheapy is ok? Thoughts? Your advice too on where to source these parts would be great.

Wierd thing is when I ran the VIN (a guy at a BMW dealership did it on bimmerforums.com) it said power: 140 kw which is ~190hp. What gives? Maybe there is a s14 stashed in there.. Likely just a glitch..

Well, looking forward to talking with you. Nice cars by the way on here....Love looking at the pics.

Cheers,
Johnny

Hi! Yet another Mike here.

I live down here in sunny White Rock and am the proud owner of my 91 318is. Bought it last year from Brian Jessel and I've got all the service records . I'm trying to add more and more to it everyday to make it look nicer and go faster but I find i've almost hit the wall and the real thing i'm concerned about now is the motor. Any suggestions?

Other than that, I love this site and I look forward to attending more meets in the near future.

Cheers.

Hi Everyone!

Hi, my name is Joni. My first BMW was a red '94 318is. After I married my husband and I sold my 318is and purchased a '97 silver M3 (see avitar). I sadly sold the car after we had twins. We're now in the market for an M5, mainly because it's a 4 door.

But something interesting happened in my search for an M5. We purchased a 325i for a very, very good price. My husband is now working on restoring it to it's original glory. It has an electrical problem and needs a new hood and front clip. It was sitting in a drive way for years before I picked it up. It started after a jump and drove rough. But when we drove the car, it still has that characteristic BMW performance.

We're gonna need some tech. help with this one. It's our first E30!

Hi I'm Winston and I'm MC Hammered on most of the forums.

My first German car is my Audi A4 Avant which has brought me into the automotive world.

I saw Beejay's e30 cabrio for sale and it revived an old dream I had as a teenager to own one. So I ended up buying an e30 cabrio to give to my brother as a graduation gift and got so caught up in fixing it up that I had to have one of my own.

So I flew to Chicago to buy my one of my own and after a wicked roadtrip bringing her to Vancouver you can see pics of here here: http://www.bimmerclassics.net/forum/...ead.php?t=5223

Hi my name is Rhys and I own a 1987 325 is. I bought it not running and rebuilt the engine in my garage. I have had the car on the road now for just under one year and i couldn't be happier. My car is deffinitley nowhere near stock anymore, just the way i like it! I joined the forum because I enjoy seeing what other people are doing with there cars. I was also hoping to get in on some of the car meets that take place locally. I heard there was a E30 bbq at the end of summer somewhere in vancouver but I could not attend because my car was on jack stands having a H&R sport cup kit installed by yours truly. I have done all the work on my car and I would not have it any other way!
