| newbie | 325es -- first pics So I'm about three months in as an E30 convert. Local PNW '86 with about 160k kms and uber clean. Wouldn't call it a garage queen but it's straight and fresh. I'm hooked, and spending WAAAY to much time trying to figure out what to do to her tastefully and in the confines of the ETA engine. More pics to come. |

| Senior Member | First mod i recommend is swap the diff to 3.25 lsd. Makes the car alot more responsive. Revs will rise on the highway due to lower gearing, but well worth it imho. If your in portland, get ahold of Joe funk at autobahn sport. He probably has one sitting on a shelf. |

Thanks guys. It's the one mod I've had done -- put in the Bavarian Autosport springs for about a 1.5" drop. Trying to decide on a chip (Bav Auto vs. TMS vs. Mark D) next, but I want to get the fuel system looked at first as I'm feeling a little lag under strong acceleration in 2nd and 3rd gear. Hadn't really thought about the diff as an option -- mine's 4:10 right? |

| newbie | http://www.dsylva-tech.ca/ I've been reading a lot of good things about the E.A.T. chips from Mark D, particularly for the e30, and especially for the eta engine. Favorable comparisons when stacked up against Conforti and Dinan chips, primarily in lower and mid range response. I'm sure there's an existing thread somewhere on the topic... |

^^^^+1 Eta's got 2.93 open diffs i believe. Changing to a lower geared diff makes an enormous difference in eta cars. 3.25 or max 3.46(i think thats the ratio) anything lower and the highway will be less than enjoyable. Here is a chip for sale if your car runs the same ecu. http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=115331 Last edited by DS Rook; 07-18-2008 at 03:05 PM.. |
