motoyen's pictures | 4th Annual E30 Picnic The E30 3 Series (’84-’91) was truly a versatile BMW. In it’s 7 year run in the USA, the car came with 5 different engines, 2-door/4 door and Touring models, rear and all wheel drive, hardtop and convertibles! BMW sold boatloads of these cars, and hundreds of our local club members are still enjoying their fine attributes. The local NW E30 SIG along with the BMW Club are organizing another E30 Picnic for all E30 owners or admirers. We’ll see you on Sunday, August 14th starting at 11 AM in Issaquah. We will have special E30s on display, and plenty of opportunities for all E30 owners to share questions and stories. We are planning on 100+ E30s that day, be sure to be part of the fun! All E30s are invited, from garage queens to daily drivers (like mine!). Extra E30 Parts cluttering the garage? Bring the parts and sell them if you wish. Look to the August Zundfolge for additional information about the Picnic. Please note that we’ve changed locations this year to the historical Triple-X Drive In in Issaquah. We outgrew the old site (115 E30s in one place will do that…) and are excited to be able to take over the Triple-X this year, they are an automotive themed restaurant. The Triple-X has a great burger menu, bring your appetite and a few bucks and they will make you happy. Auburn Foreign Car is graciously covering some of the costs for the event. We are asking for a $2 donation to help cover the additional costs of the event. It is important for you to RSVP to me so I can better plan for parking and coordination with the Triple-X. I need to know the amount of people attending in your car, and what kind of E30 you are bringing. See you there! The picnic was a huge success! Here's the pictures! motoyen's pictures | Tour: I've scoped a short tour from the Triple-X out to Snoqualmie Falls. I didn't go on the last tour, but I'd be surprised if this was the same back-country route. We'll look to roll out on the tour about 3PM, and I would guess it is around 45 minutes to Snoqualmie Falls. Out of Towners: There is a Motel 6 and a Holiday Inn one exit to the West on I-90. Those were the closest motels I could see. I understand there will be some people from California coming up this year. That got me thinking if you could provide me with your city with your RSVP, that would be interesting to see where all everyone is coming from. I've got at least a half dozen Canadians already RSVP'd and the same amount from Oregon. DVD: We are going to have another free E30 related racing DVD to distribute this year. Last year we made 100 and ran out so we are doing 125 and see how that goes. It is free as part of your donation to the picnic. They will be distributed first come, first served, but with 125 I think everyone will get one. So when you RSVP to Lance Richert |

motoyen's pictures | Greetings All, Along with Auburn Foreign Car and the Puget Sound BMW Club, Griot's Garage have offered us some items from their catalog for us to give away at the E30 Picnic. So the idea is there will be some general raffle prizes, plus some sort of awards for highest mileage E30, lowest mileage E30 and furthest traveled. If the guys from California are able to swing it and come up, then the guys from mid-Oregon are going to have to drive south for a while before heading north. ha ha. Anyone who has already won for highest or lowest mileage will get a nice round of applause, but is not eligible for the mileage awards. We want new winners. I don't know what Griot's Garage is donating yet, but I do know Auburn Foreign Car are donating some nice 1:18 scale BMW Mobile Tradition models of the Green Tic Tac race car, some BMW hats, and some tri-pacs of oil filters for the various E30 engines that came in the E30. So when you arrive at the Triple-X, be sure to get signed in to get a raffle ticket to have a chance at this great stuff. As a reminder, if you have not RSVP'd, please do so to me with your: Name, Type of E30 Number of guests (0, 1, 2...) City Full info on the E30 Picnic can be found here: http://www.bmwpugetsound.com/events/05-E30-picnic.htm |
