Post G-Power BMW M3 Hits 200 MPH

G-Power M3 Tornado
At the beginning of last month, we looked at G-Power's Hurricane CS M6 coupe that could hit a top speed of 228 mph. Well, the German tuning company has turned their attention to the M6's little sister, the M3, and made some modifications. And, in keeping with their affinity for naming vehicles after destructive weather phenomena (they also have an X5 model called the Typhoon), have named it the M3 Tornado.

Taking a standard BMW M3 and turning it into a Tornado is not as big a process as the transformation from M6 to Hurricane, and on the outside, it doesn't feature too may cosmetic differences. Under the hood, though, you'll be met with a blast of orange. The distinctly-colored supercharger provides only modest increases to the stock M3's power. Horsepower has been increased by about 19% and torque by 20% to an output of 500 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque (480 Nm). The core technology of the G-Power Tornado treatment is the T1-518 ASA centrifugal supercharger, which has seen past BMW service on many Aplina models, most notably the B6 GT3 race car. A G-Power press release marks a 0-200 km/h (124 mph) time of 13.5 seconds over the stock M3's (with manual transmission) time of 15.8.

The 200 mph top speed is acheived by removing the electronic limiter, but G-Power will only do that if you get tires that can handle that speed, so enter their 20-inch Silverstone Diamond wheels skinned with Michelin Pilot Sport tires. These wheels an an optional four-pipe muffler are the only exterior modifications to the M3 Tornado, but the interior gets the carbon fiber treatment for trim pieces, there is a G-Power logo affixed on a new speedometer, and at your feet is an aluminum pedal set. G-Power also offers a custom leather treatment interior option.

Lastly, to help you handle the higher speeds, G-Power has installed their G3M-RS coil-over suspension system that continuously height-adjustable and has nine settings each for bound and rebound.

Check out the official pictures of the M3 Tornado in the M3 Gallery.
