Special Limited Run M3 Coupe Announced

BMW has announced that they will be producing a special limited run of the BMW M3 coupe called the M3 Edition Model. And when they say limited, they mean it. The special models will enter the market in July and have a production run of only 6 months. The models are limited to four color options, Alpine White, Black, Dakar Yellow, and Monte Carlo Blue, and each color has a specifically appointed interior with "BMW Individual High-Gloss Satin Chrome." The cars also feature variuos chrome accents on the grille, tail pipes, and side gills.

The M3 Edition Models also ride on different wheels than the standard M3. They are equipped with 19-inch forged M light-alloy rims with a double-spoke design. These wheels are available in either the classic rim color, or in black. Also, the Alpine White, Black, and Monte Carlo Blue color options have the choice of the same rim design outfitted in a contrasting white color with polished spokes. The suspension has also received a few minor tweaks to lower the body by 10 mm (0.4 inches).

BMW's official press release did not mention any specific changes to performance or transmission, however they did state that the M3 Edition Models would have 420 horsepower. BMW's website currently lists the standard M3 coupe as having 414 horsepower, so some minor tweaks seem to have been made to the engine. The press release said that the cars would have the same transmission options as the standard M3, either a traditional six-speed manual or the M Double-clutch Transmission with Drivelogic.
