Post Classic BMWs Hit The Mille Miglia

BMW 328 Mille Miglia
BMW Group Classic, the division of the German automaker responsible for maintaining classic models and running the company's car museum, will be fielding nine classic BMWs in this year's Mille Miglia Race. One of the nine models is the #74 328 Mille Miglia Touring Coupe, which won the event back in 1940. Seven of the other cars from BMW are also 328 variants along with one 1957 507 Roadster.

The original Mille Miglia (Italian for "1,000 Miles") was held between 1927 and 1957 and was a favored touring car battle ground for car manufacturers. The current Mille Miglia events are limited to those cars that ran in one of the original races in the 30 time span. After their 1,000 mile circuit through the Italian countryside, the models will be returned to the BMW Museum. The race will be ending on Sunday.
