New Photo Gallery and Enhanced Forums Navigation Menu

New Photo Gallery

The new Photo Gallery is now live and linked to the "Pictures" button in the main navigation menu. The new photo gallery provides each member a members gallery where you can upload photos to and create multiple photo albums. While it may seem similar to the photo gallery you now access from your member profile, the new photo gallery has much more functionality and many more features, many of which still need to be implemented. I have started migrating photos from the old gallery but I still have more to do. I will continue to upload more photos and next week hope to start implementing some of the advanced gallery's forums integration features.

Forums Navigation Bar

While it was not planned, we ended up having to streamline the forums navigation bar in order to include the photo gallery profile and photo gallery search links. As a result we ended up enhancing the forums navigation bar as well, which I hope you will find less cluttered but every bit as functional. I realize some of you maybe upset I did not post any advance notice regarding the change however I had no idea changes needed to be made until Chris started to implement the gallery links earlier tonight. Since I had already paid for Chris's time to finis off the Photo Gallery implementation this evening, I decided it was better to utilize his time and have him make the menu changes so he could proceed.

The following is a brief outline of the changes made:

1. The forum navigation bar is now one line instead of two separate lines. All links were retained however some have been moved under the quicklinks dropdown and others were combined into relevent drop down menus.
2. Todays posts and new posts have been combined into the "New Posts" drop down which now includes additional options as well. The "replies needed" link retreives threads with no replies.
3. The Search link is now a "Search" drop down which now also includes the "photo gallery" search.
4. The User CP link has been replaced with the "My Control Panel" dropdown and now includes the related control panel links which used to be under the "Quick Links" drop down.
5. A New "My Profiles" drop down has been added to the drop down so you can easily access both your forums and gallery profile.
6. A new "My Posts" drop down has been added to provide easy access to your posts and threads.

Hopefully, you will find the new navigation bar more streamlined, less cluttered and more functional. It is easy to change or modify so please just let me know if there are any links you would like added or changes in the current layout you do not like and we can change or revert back.

I don't suppose any of you would be interested in reviewing the gallery categories and advising what they should be. I doubt very much if I have them setup correctly and could really use some help to get them right. I mean should they be by series, model? What did I miss, and what do I have wrong? What categories would you like to see?

I've done as much as I can with the little I know. Any chance some of you guys could lend a hand?
