Blackice's pictures | F1 Spain - Catalunya WOW is that only thing I can say, I got up at 5 this morning to catch the qualifying of the Spanish Grand Prix, and Look at the some of the drivers that didn't make the cut ! Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen did not look impressed that he didn't make Q1 cut, Not a word to the team, he just put on his shades and slipped out of the padock.... Not sure when the last time he didn't make the cut, but it looks like he may have broken his car, problems with the new lighter Ferrari ? The most reliable car last year, has had a hard time of it this year, putting the power to the ground seems to be all related to a underdeveloped air foil package. McLaren did make it either, with Kovalainen not makein Q1 and Hamilton not making Q2, and look who is at the top again. Braun GP, and Vettle. The no "in season" testing seems to have clipped the wings of the bigger teams, and has made the job of trying to catch up much much harder. BMW, McLaren, and Ferrari all had untested air foil packages for this race since the teams are only allowed to use computer models, and straight line testing. What will it take to catch the Braun car ? Blackice's pictures | You really can see the differences in the BMW front wing. Much higher off the ground. With a larger opening. ![]() Ferrari's new rear diffuser, modified nose on the Toyota car is much smaller. The Braun car as far as I know, Unchanged since its debut. |
