I'm fairly certain they must have can-openered that car up to get him out, thus the two pieces.

You could very well be right about that but when I look at the drivers door it looks like it would open quite easily so why would they go to all that work?

In looking around the area it does not seem there is anything there that could cut it up like that though... strange, maybe someone will find something that will answer this for us?

i knew a kid in highschool that hit a phone pole going 170, and did the same thing and walked away. Unfortunately his two passengers didnt survive. one of which was decappitated and the other was one of my close friends.

His car hit the phone pole right on the passenger side mirror and opened the car up like a can of sardines. the rear left bumper was touching the front left bumper after everything was done. i really wish the driver was dead, because he was a rich kid idiot to begin with and my buddy was just getting a ride home. driver was on suicide watch for many months afterward. very sad story but this accident was almost a carbon copy.
