| newbie |  1988 735i Realibility? Hey Guys! I have an opprotunity to buy a 1988 735i for a pretty decent price. One downfall is that it has 230, 000 KMS, but the car is in MINT condition and I know it has been well cared for. I was just wondering how these cars are mechanically, or if they have any weak spots i.e. Transmission, engine,. Thanks! |

Mr. Red's pictures | the electrics and transmissions are the weak points on those old 7ers IIRC |

| Member | mechanically the big six engines are like the energizer bunny. i just saw an '85 535 at the junker with 524 000 km on the clock. electronics will start acting up as they get old though. 230 000km isnt all that much for km really you can proly squeeze another 100 000kms out of her no problem if the price is right... |
