Smile advice on buying first E28

i posted this on bimmerforums.com but more information would be appreciated. I'm an oldschool soul and love older vintage cars and I found one hell of a deal on a 1988 535is....the car has 107k miles and its a 5spd...all stock. the owner seemed really nice but i learned not to take anybody's word when it comes to buying a car. I'm going to look at the car this afternoon. What are somethings i should inspect, specifically the engine? when test drving what should i look out for? thanks guys any information would be appreciated.

The M30 engines are bulletproof. Is this a japanese import or something, thats low mileage. Just the usual old bmw check for rust, and take it for a drive. Any bumps or clunks are most likely old worn out rubber suspension components. Check the steering box for play. A little is fine, but alot isnt good.
