I'm new to this "look" stuff, but let's see if I get it:

"Murder" is all black - trim, wheels, light lenses, window tint. Right?

"Tow-Mater" is selective rust and truck-like functional equipment.

That e28 is "Tow-Mater," yo.

(I have a two year old - Cars is a great movie!)

Cheyne's pictures

The thing is rediculous, since when does a "cool" car have rusted hood with a crappy roof rack with some old luggage in it? Seems like a waste to me.

SpasticDwarf's pictures

For the record, the car is mine.
My name is Mike Burroughs, and I'm from franklin, TN.

Thanks for the positive comments on the car. It's a love-or-hate thing, and I get that some of you think it's pretty stupid, and I can respect that.

I still have the original hood, and the car isn't ruined. Some day you'll see her back in pristine shape.

Keep the bimmer passion alive

Different styles for different folks. Not my cup of tea but to each his own. Sure not your run of the mill bimmer good looks but bet she sure stands out in a crowd!

Pretty sad sight especially with that rusty hood.

rottenal's pictures

I kinda like the contrariness, that surrounds it.
The dichotomy between the knackered hood, roof rack, etc. and the good looking wheels,'nicer' body panels sets up a tension that works effectively I think. At least as a photo at any rate, may not work so well in the flesh as it were.

for me, i love like 98% of it. get a real bumper, and keep the roof rack. but you could leave the hood the way it is. rust can be a beautiful color

That car is badass. BMWs don't have to be either concourse cars or race cars.[/quote]

Agreed

Exclamation

Just for the record, BMW enthusiasts need to get off their "I am such a purest" perch. The car maybe slightly "played" just because he is following a trend, but the car is HAWT! This eurotrash style comes from the VW scene. At least they have the balls to actually take risks and cut up a car to build them self's a "Hot Rod" import. When I read the title of this post, I originally thought you were being sarcastic Kirn.

this car is for sure one of a kind, and i bet it gets more looks then all of our cars on the board. Yeah you can say its ugly, but thats because you dont see how cool it is. Especially the picture of the tow.

I love it and i think its freakin awesome, so keep doing what you doing.
