Problem with brake lining

Hey so my e30 is running a bit rough right now and the brake lining light on the dash keep flickering on and off when I hit bumps in the road. I was wondering if anyone would know if there is something wrong with my brake pad sensor, or do i need to replace my brake pads?
thanks

It could be a bad pad sensor. Easy to unplug the sensor to test. Easy to check brake pad wear. Take the wheel off and look into the caliper with a light- when pad material is down to 3mm, I replace pads on my car.
It could also be your battery that's not fully charged. Other lights on the dash coming on and off? If so mght be the battery that is weak or altnator not charging your battery.

Car running rough could be many things (bad spark plugs, cap and rotor worn out, plug wires toast, burnt valves, incorrectly adjusted valves, clogged injectors/fuel system issues, clogged air filter, bad water temp sensor for the ECU, on and on and on), and ironiclly, a battery that is not fully charged will not operate the fuel pump correctly causing a poor idle and acceleration symptoms.
Good luck!

Take the wheels off and inspect the brake sensor wire on all four corners. It happened to me a few weeks ago and found out that the wire was frayed. I soldered the wire together and wrapped it up with electrical tape and all was good again.

those brake pad sensors are ******* gay anyway just cut the wires and put a crimp cap on them and check your brake pad wear once in while end of story
