whataboykie's pictures | Synth' seems to have worked well here from new in this particular engine. I have always used part or semi synth' (Castrol Syntec Blend) in my M20. I know back in the early 90's BMW SA performed a similar test with all of their models which had the just new M50 engines, 320i, 325i, 520i & 525i. They run them all over the continent for a helluva' while with Castrol Futron which was their part synth' 20w60 oil. BMW SA subsequently standardized on this oil for all their M50 & M52 engines. In the UK a lot of BMW dealerships seem to have standardized on Mobil 1 for most engines. What are dealerships in Canada & US using on M20 & M50 engines now? |
