New BMW Owner - Where To Buy Parts?

Hey folks,

After many years of being a Toyota and Alfa Romeo owner, I managed to take the dive and found myself an 89 325i sedan. The car is in pretty good condition aesthetically and mechanically but there are very little quirks about the car that I'd like to fix up.

I need to get a new sunroof crank of which I've found online from various BMW parts vendors but they're aftermarket. I would prefer OEM and Brian Jessel BMW in Burnaby quoted me $86. Ouch! I think I also need a new front bumper turn signal assembly as the wire where the contacts are for the bulbs, I think it broke. I haven't been able to take it out yet so I'm not sure. After many years of owning a Toyota and having good vendors sell parts at a discount, this BMW world is a whole new ball game to me.

Are there any shops you guys like to support locally or online for OEM parts? I live in Vancouver. Thanks and much appreciated!

Thanks guys.

Brian Jessel wanted $138 for the OEM rear view mirror (punch to the balls). I had to refuse. Are there any "club specific" discounts out there at particular shops?

Ya, i go to bj for tiny things. All moving parts i usually get at the wrecker, or online. Once again the wrecker is invaluable. Its a great way also to see how things go together.

Yes there will be a LH control arm available, after the coil overs are installed in Tim's 325i. Not sure of the condition, but I can let you know

The plan is to tear down Tim's 318i this weekend. But the control arm in question, is in Tim's 325 i. The plan is to swap the coil overs out of the 318i and drop it in to the 325i. Not sure if Tim's plans are to swap them out this weekend, or not.

Do you need the arm ASAP ?

The control arm is what is stopping me from insuring the car. Luckily I have the 325i so I am mobile, but it doesn't have working A/C So I really would like it ASAP so please let me know how it goes. Any idea on asking price if it is still in decent shape?
