will a 87 325e tranny go up to a 88 325i?

im looking at this awesome deal for my swap but im not sure if the 87 325e tranny will fit my 88 325i...

I am not sure if it will work or not.... I have heard a lot of talk about this swap, but I have never heard how the swap went.

Here is some info on rv3 tranny question - R3VLimited Forums Maybe you can pm one of those guys and see if the swap was done, and if there were any hang ups.

cool thanks, i know the 86's are different but the 87's should go on, but thats just what ive heard. i found a parts car for 300, and the car only has very few miles, why not swap right?

I've wondered this also,parts cars are available quite often here for good prices and any info on parts interchange would be good to know.

Hell for 300 bucks, how can you go wrong ? You could part the rest of the car out for that. I think it would be a worth a try !

The swap should work fine. I did a 84 325e tranny and put it into my 89 325ic.
