I can see undeniable positives in the front strut brace and the lower cross brace in terms of stiffening the front end.

I am planning to fab the strut brace for the iX and most likely the lower Xbrace as well, however before I go with it I wanted to explore any negatives... bare with me here...

Can the front end be too stiff? Why you ask? Well if the front end is so stiff that it does not deflect some under the Gs will the G's simply move down the line to the next weakest spot.
In other words, stiffening the front end to mimic a race car that typically sports the cage and rear re-enforcement without doing the latter may bring unpredictability in the rear...

Does anyone have any real life experience with that?

When engineering these braces all the possible negative effects are taken into account and through testing, mitigated by tweaking the design through muliple prototype testing.

There will be some more information about chassis compliance and bracing it the tech section of http://entwicklung30.com comming soon ( I'm guessing in a month or so if I dont lag on it)

Hope that won't get me a ban on here...

Sorry it took so long for me to respond but I apparently misspelled my own user name... Could you fix that for me? Should have been: EvolutionZen.

There are images here : http://www.way2zen.com/e30-products.html (also can be found under bmwzenperformance.com and entwinklung30.com)

There will be more and probably larger ones as well in the tech section and possibly in the articles when I'm done fixing the site (again).

Yeah sure I can fix that, if you post larger images of the M42 brace......

Seriously, welcome to the site, and Keep us up to date with your braces.

Thank you for fixing my spelling tragedy, here you are a bit larger:

(not much larger image, but handy) It fits all e30s including M10,M20, S14 and m5X swapped cars as well as the m42s.

If I can remember and get the chance I'll try to post the original.

This is a brief article about chassis flex:
Controlling and Mitigating Chassis Flex.

I've been working on consolidating all of the websites (Zen Racing, Evolution Zen, Zen Performance etc) and I'll fix all of the image links as soon as I get the chance.
