| newbie | Hi All, My fist post on this forum, hope you-all can help. I'm getting conflicting advice re the right size wheel/tire combo for true winter tire mount on my IX. Some say 14" steel with 195's. Currently I've got 205/55/15 on basket weave mags. I'm tired of remounting 2 times per year at a local shop. Any mid/ north east U.S. or eastern Canadian IX buffs on board, please help and let me know what your prefered combo is . Thanks, IXStevehttp://www.bimmerclassics.net/forum/images/smilies/canada.gif Vancouver,B.C. |

| newbie | Hi Ted , and all. My local tire shop, can't get 15"steelies 4 bolt.Their supplier ( a national)does not have them and can't get them. The BMW Store has 14" steel @ 115.00 plus tax each. Ouch. I'm going to mount my Conti M-S 15" on my mags and suffer through the winter. thanks IXSteve |

nuts4bmw's pictures | Keep checking craigslist. I've seen steelies in 14" several times....and they're cheap. |

| Senior Member Supporting Member | Steve: Being an IX, we have some advantages as our cars have FWD offset (ET 41 for our stock 15" BBS), so a lot of after market wheels that fits most FWD import such Honda, Toyota will easily fit on to the IX. Particularly stock wheels from MKI, MKII & MKIII VW Rabbit, Golf and Jetta or even stock wheels from the late model Mini, they all have the same center bore as E30 and will fit perfectly. Shopping for a set of those may be much easier and cheaper. Ted |
