Pics of my D/D 325iS...

Gentlemen,

Some recent pics of my D/D '88 325iS that I purchased from Mr. Red back in the Summer...

Lots of work has been done... more to come.

Cheers,
-B.

p.s.- And yeesss... the Kopi's are a tad on the heavier side but it's not like I'm ramming large numbers of HP into the tarmac to begin with... ...more eye-candy form than function indeed.

Wheels are too big.... in my opinion anyways. And aren't they made out of metallic playdough?

I agree. Wheels are a bit big, but it's all personal preference really. Nice car for sure!

Any pics of the interior/engine bay?

Yes yes... as I clearly stated in the first post, the wheels are more form than function. I was looking for a set of 16" wheels but I couldn't find anything that I liked for the price I wanted to put in and it was running 14" weaves with chunky Winter tires... in the Summer... and the Pirellis I managed to get for $280 US.... you know how it goes... ...Summer was rolling by and I needed wheels for a low-ish price that I thought would complement the stance with the H&Rs and Bilsteins I had installed...etc. I wanted to focus any $big bucks$ on the more important mechanical issues that required addressing so that I could run it on a daily basis...

I don't exactly drive the car hard so it's never really a hindrance for what I set about doing with it. It's an A-B, nimble, daily driven, well-handling runabout... classic BMW menace. This one gets dirty.

Dude,, you don't know what you're talking about.

They're made out of playdough. Just playdough. Where'd you get the idea there's metal in them? hahaha.

Just bent my rear one seriously out of whack.

Nice pics. I think the wheels look good but I've always been a fan of kopies. That being said, the wheels look way too sporty next to those mud flaps

The red paint looks a bit orange in those pics. Is that how it actually looks or is it just the pics?

Keep the mud-flaps! I don't know why but I've always loved 'em.

Do you regret not getting a m42, or has the DD torque of the m20 won you over a bit?

Some nice 15" weaves will really sharpen up that red/chrome classic once you finish up your current rubber.

Looking good Blake, I've always loved all of your cars. ^ one question that was mentioned, how do you like the M20 over the M42.

Going to convert the diving boards to plastic?

Thank you sir...

Given the current climate of the board at the moment, I think I'll refrain from any in-depth M42 vs. M20 opinions right now... . Nah, it's not that bad really. It (the M20) just seems a little luggish at times... no kick... lazy buildup of power... and just doesn't have that excitable get-up 'n go as my old M42 did. The M42 wanted to play and be hurled down a winding road, revving blissfully above 6000 rpm, whereas the M20 just doesn't feel quite as refined... (maybe I should chip it..?) feels dated against the livelier DOHC M42... and well, in a way it was, right..?

Now don't anyone go spitting and pissing all over my thread with your M20-is-superior rants... okay? It's a good I6 engine, the M20... just nowhere even near as good as the M30 I6 in my 635CSi...

Diving boards are staying on...! Mudflaps are staying on...! (they're sooo old-school cool) And thanks you guys, for all of the nice comments... I really do appreciate it.

*Attention* The wheels and tires you see on the car right now (of which are in minty brand new, unscathed condition with about 1500 kms on them) are going to be for sale...!! Shoot me a reasonable offer and I'll most likely bite....

Cheers,
-Blake

Seriously Blake try a chip in it. I'm sure it will make you a lot happier. ITs funny that your m30 makes you happier. Its even more archaic then the m20!

Go figure!

Looking good Blake as usual! I actually don't mind teh diving boards and the diving board bumpers, it does look classy, original and does have an old-school look to it!

I agree with Blake, as a 6'er owner myself, basically it's hard to compete with the M30 I6, and it too makes me smile haha. Great low-end torque. I feel that it has more pep that the M20. None the less, I love my E30, it's quite quick, but just no near the 6'er.
